Facing a U.S. legal assault, China fired back Friday by filing a World Trade Organization complaint against antidumping duties that the United States applies on Chinese paper imports.


China says its companies invested USD21Billion abroad in 2006
Chinese banks, manufacturers and other companies invested USD 21 billion abroad last year as they rapidly expanded foreign operations, the government reported Saturday.

China's rate increase targets food prices
China’s central bank raised interest rates for the second time in less than a month on Friday in an attempt to rein in soaring food prices, excessive bank lending and bubbles in the property and stock markets.

China finds suspected H5N1 outbreak among ducks
China has discovered a suspected outbreak of the H5N1 bird flu virus among ducks in an outlying district of the southern metropolis of Guangzhou, the Agriculture Ministry said on Saturday.

China to crack down on rich flouting one-child rule
Rich Chinese people who flout the country's family planning policies, which usually limit couples to one child, will face higher fines under tougher new enforcement guidelines, state media said on Saturday.
